Hi Future Akachi, how’s life going?
Honestly, I feel like I have a messed-up life right now, and I hope it’s not still like that. I’m learning frontend development, but I know I’m not fully committed to it. I can be really lazy, and I don’t always like putting in the work that I know I should. However, I hope that I will change, or better still, I am working towards changing so that I can be better.
In the next twelve months, I want to look at myself and be proud. I want to be proud of the woman I have become and everything I have been able to achieve. I want to be really good at frontend development, and I also want to start learning backend development. I want to look back and know that I actually put in the effort to improve myself and become better at something I chose to learn.
Definitely, I should be done with school by then. I don’t want to still be depending on people for money. Instead, I want to be the giver. I have always wanted to make my own money legitimately and not through illegal means or through a guy, but by myself. I want to be able to provide for myself and know that the things I have are things I worked for and earned myself.
Right now, I’m trying to learn frontend development very well. I want to become really good at it, and I want to reach the point where I’ve landed the first big freelance gig that will pay me in dollars. I want my hard work and learning to eventually become something that can make me money and give me the independence I have always wanted.
So yeah, with my BSc, which I’m still working on, along with my CGPA, I want to become a self-made woman who can get what she wants by herself. I want to be able to stand on my own and not always need somebody else to make things happen for me. I want to know that I can depend on myself and that I have built something for myself through my own effort.
I also want to draw closer to God because, I mean, you can’t do anything in your life without God. I believe that when you have Him close to you, you won’t lose your way. I want Him to be part of my journey as I work towards becoming the woman I want to be.
Most importantly, I don’t want to lose myself while trying to become a self-made woman. I want to grow, become independent, learn, achieve my goals, and still remain myself. That is why I would love to draw closer to God. I want to become better without losing the person I am, and I hope that when I read this twelve months from now, I will be proud of how far I have come.
I hope I actually put in the effort. I hope I didn’t give up on myself. I hope I became the woman I wanted to be, and I hope I can look back at this version of myself and be proud.
Love,
Akachi, from twelve months ago.
